Howdy! I have a 1980 honda cb650. This is my first project bike. On my 4th cylinder carb, the throttle valve won't slide through the carb. Out of curiosity I took the 1st cylinder throttle valve and it doesn't go in smooth either. Both throttle valves fit perfectly into the 1st cylinder.
I'm at a loss as to what could cause this. Everything is extremely clean. Any ideas?

Re: Carb problem
Are your jets clean? Maybe the needle is dragging through the main jet. Either way It sounds like soaking the carb body and jet in pinesol or carb cleaner should help.

Re: Carb problem
what makes you think they are dragging?
It is on a direct mechanical linkage so unless the throttle won't snap shut it should not be a problem.
Silly question but I assume the heavy closing spring is still on the bike

Re: Carb problem
So my slide was a little warped. I got a new one and she is running like a champ!
