Led turn signal fuse blows

Postby Nicholaskent54 » Sat Mar 04, 2017 12:57 pm

I recently upgraded my 1980 honda cb650 to led turn signals. I started with the rear led bar, tested and it works great. Then I plugged in the front turn signals, powered on, and it blows my fuse. I though maybe the lights where defective so I hooked them up directly to the battery and they turn on perfectly. (without flashing because they are not hooked up the the flasher) any ideas on why my fuse is blowing? Thank you!

My best guess would be you have the wiring reversed on your headlight or signal. Black and green are grounds. Green on the bike, black on your new stuff. If you hooked the orange, blue, or headlight wires to the black you are pretty much just putting a wire across your battery terminals.

So this bike was a mess when I got it electrically. Turns out he had two turn signal flashers and they caused my fuse to blow.
