Great write-up!

One correction (and suggestion) to step 20. The internal thread size of the main shaft is actually 12mm x 1.25 (not 1.50 as stated) and the best way to remove it is with a slide hammer threaded into the shaft. I made a fitting for my slide hammer by welding a coupling nut (to fit the shaft of the slide hammer) to a 12mm x 1.25 hex bolt (to thread into the main shaft end internal threads). A few easy taps and it's out. No need to struggle with trying to tug it out.

I just finished doing this job, worked out well, but I can't imagine doing it with the engine still in the bike! I did it on an engine stand with it upside down. Not hard at all after you remember to take the starter out!
