Key tumbler
Key tumbler
After several minutes staring at the bike and hating my decision I noticed the helmet lock. The new key works there. You can see where this goes and it worked out good although I no longer have a helmet lock.

Re: Key tumbler
I have never had a problem with any keys or locks on any motorcycle so I have never really had a need to examine an ignition other than check the connections. I didn't even know that you could take them apart, so well done to you for sorting it out It is something that I now know to check if the need ever arises.
Re: Key tumbler
It's pretty obvious to me whats wrong there, one of the brass pieces is bent out of the shape. Either you bend it back or try to make a new one, that should solve any problem with the lock i think.

sprygurr did done fixed it by robbing the tumblers from his helmet lock, the clever bugger!
Re: Key tumbler
Whatever works though, just so long the most important lock is functional.

Re: Key tumbler
I have never used a helmet lock after a mate of mine had his rather expensive helmet stolen by some git cutting his strap. I think sprygurr showed amazing ingenuity doing what he did, I'd have gone on ebay looking for a replacement set of locks
