currently I have and just used a feeler gauge the kind that is bent, but like most gauges Ive found locally and online also their slimmest gauge is too fat for my/our specs which call for min .05mm or .002".

I used the slimmest one which is a bit fatter so I did it by feel, intake very difficult to remove the feeler, exhaust a bit easier whereas as the book states "a slight drag" while removing you adjust for. Bike sounds good idling with choke(for another thread).

So 1st of all should I get a new feeler gauge and can you recommend one?

Otherwise I found one on Amazon but it's not bent so can anyone tell me if these can be used effectively enough especially being so thin the ones Ill be using amyway?

I found these which are perfect but just the two sizes only. would be better to have a whole set.

I've never had a problem using straight feeler gauges on the valve adjusters, but bent ones would be easier to use........if I actually had any

You should definitely get one if the one you have is not the right size.

thanks. I think I could have figured out at this thinness an angle isn't SO much an advantage, at least for my job. And turns out I've got a set of the straight ones, and go figure, it's got both .05 and .08mm. And they're so flimsy they'll fit just fine.
