Hi Riche, part number 18 in the link but have you still got the standard exhaust system?

There is a tab on the original stock exhaust where the rubber stop fits. You may have to fabricate something for an aftermarket exhaust.

Hi Riche, which one
My CB650 Custom is now taxed and MOT'd, my Zephyr is still in bits, my Nighthawk isn't going anywhere until the Zephyr is done and out of the way and my Cafe project is still under the cover in my garden, it has been since the day I bought it
How's yours? if you are at the stage of fiddling with stands, you must be nearly there?

I had the same problem on my bike:

The fix is to take a flat aluminum metal. sort of, at least something that does not rust.
Then you bend one end 90 ⁰ and at the other end make a hole that fits the mount for the whole muffler mount.

Thanks for the replies. I am tempted just to remove the center stand altogether.
This is more or less where I am at
https://youtu.be/sP74eVILlbAHope the video works ..
I still need to buy an exhaust pipe (recommendations are welcome) and a few other small items.. also trying to source an inexpensive way of balancing the carbs..

Very nice Rich
what's wrong with the exhaust on it?, though I couldn't really see it in the vid. I like the fume extractor system
I might rig something up like that myself but direct it under my compressor shed to try get rid of the bloody mice that have taken up residence
Have a look at this for a cheap carb balancer

Thanks for the link George. I have seen similar before but just not sure of what to do yet .. I have borrowed a single airflow meter from a friend but its for car use really.
The exhaust is the orginal but dented and cut off and it looks bad..
I used to have a mouse issue too in another small shed I had, little buggers ate a tent and a few other garden soft furnishing before I caught them..

I think it would be more job to remove the stand than do what i suggested.

The best place to attach a metal bar is the muffler mount i have marked on the picture.
And as i tried to explain, make hole big enough at one end where you will attach the bar at the muffler mount, then at the other end you bent it 90°. The lenght of the bar need to be so long it hold the stand down.

Thanks for the exhaust find, Its a shame its not closer to me
..
Yes I agree probably easier just to make a bracket for the center stand.
Back to the carb sync's vacume thing, does anyone know what size thread the sync pipe adapters have to be to fit into the pd type carbs?
Thanks
Rich

Hi Rich, not sure about thread size but this may help, this is the blanking screw, brass part is from a Morgan Carbtune, second pic is of it fitted to the carb.
