keep in mind I recently got it to fire on all four quite well albeit very high at idle. And I have the pilot screws turned out a couple times . I'm going to grab some new plugs only just to see but I won't open them if you guys convince me I should try something else at this point. So I'll keep the receipt. What do you think?

and what do I need to look for as far as the plugs. sorry, I was supposed to grab one before I left but did not

All i can say is even if the spark looks good outside the engine it can actually be no spark when phe plug is mounted.
Seems to me the best solution for you is actually find someone that is a bike mechanic to look over your bike.

Or he could use one of these, but I don't think that is anything for jj to worry about at the moment :)

 Yep! I'm a right devious little imp  I'll let you know what size mine is when I get in my shed, I've put it in a safe place  eerr! its that safe that I can't remember where it is  You could find them cheaper than the one in the link, that was just the first one I found. They only really work on tick over to get a nice even blue flame in each cylinder, when you open the throttle the blue flame turns yellow, you cannot get blue throughout the revs. If you do buy one don't leave it in each cylinder too long and don't rev the engine too high or you will damage it, be as brief as possible. When it comes to buying plugs just buy the recommended ones.

jj, you would need one for the 12mm plug if you decide you want to buy one. They are not an essential tool, you can play about with your mixture screws to get the same results. They are what I would describe as a lazy tool
