Forks
The front end is so very very soft. There's an air inlet that I've never filled, but i wonder if it isn't something more serious, unrelated. What are the basic, exploratory steps to figuring out forks? Should there be fluid in them? They feel smooth, just super soft. I don't even know where to start.

Re: Forks
For what it's worth, I found a few pages from a manual about the 79-80 forks; good info! The down side was that there was just one paragraph about 1981 and up: take it to a dealer. Anybody experienced on this one?

Re: Forks
Hi Michael, I haven't done anything with my Nighthawk air assisted forks but I checked out my workshop manual. There isn't much info on them but this is what I've got from the Troubleshooting page, Soft Suspension, 1, Weak Fork Springs. 2, Insufficient Fluid In Forks. 3, Low Air Pressure.
In the specs, I'm typing this exactly as written.
Fork Oil Capacity, 320+-2.5cm3 (10.8+-0.08 ozs) after assembly.
300+-2.5cm3 (10.0+-0.08 ozs) at draining.
Fork Air Pressure, 70-110 kPa (0.7-1.1 kg/cm2 , 10-16 psi)
The 2 and 3 written after "cm" are smaller and higher than the rest of the letters, I presume this means squared and cubed. Hope this is of some use but it's all I've got at the moment.
