Brake bleeding for dummies

Postby Nate » Mon Nov 13, 2006 8:53 am

Is there a suggested brake speed bleeder that will work with my 1980 that I can't screw up??? My brakes seem to operate well. When i recently replace tires i checked the pads out and they seemed almost new. My brake fluid on the other hand looks a bit dingy, ok it looks down right like sludge. I've read posts elsewhere where people talked about using a brake speed bleeder to pump out old fluid and then to pull through the new and bleed at the same time. Where can i get one of these magical creations? Is it a bike specific thing or can i get one at the auto parts store??

Wow that looks ingenius, and simple enough for a dummy like me to use. :) I was looking at the application chart and it isn't really clear to me. I think i should get the SB7100. It doesn't mention specific years but says "Tokico Calipers use SB7100" above the honda section. Is this correct????

Also does anyone know if these are available at auto parts stores or only from the website?
