Mystery Hose found

Postby Nate » Tue Nov 14, 2006 1:17 pm

I found a hose today resting on the swingarm. Tracing the hose around, it connects to a Tee with one end going to the crankcase and another end going to the airbox. So my logic says this is a crankcase vent of sorts. SHouldn't this be going into the airbox??? I don't see another connection to the airbox for another hose. ONly the one that has a hose connected to it. I'm not getting much oil to it, but enough that it has left a moist spot on the swingarm.

Any suggestions???

I think, could be wrong, that is to allow drainage of any excess fluid (water vapor? gas?) that may build up in the airbox. My airbox did have some crud in when I bought it.

Someone on SOHC refered me to a parts diagram that helped me figure out where it goes. It turns out to be a crank case vent tee'd off of the one that goes to the airbox. It connects to a little black box in underneath the battery box inbetween the legs of the centerstand. Talk about a pain in the rear to get to but it's back where it belongs.
