Instrument re-assembly

Postby pae » Sun Jul 22, 2007 3:04 pm

I have the gauges apart at the moment to refurbish the bodies and clean the faces and glass. Does anyone know where I can get a clamp ring to hold the flanges together when re-joining the top and bottom halves?

regards, Phil

Hi Phil,
sorry, no idea where to get them. Probably too late, but here is an online instruction and they reuse the old ring:

Thanks Volker, no it's not too late, although someone has done this previously on my rev-counter but without taking too much care - heress what it looks like. I'll have to spend some time re-shaping this ring, but it's good to know that it can be done. I'll experiment before refurbishing in case I scratch the bodies trying this out.

Good site on that link, I haven't found that one before.

regards, Phil

Here's the state of my rev-counter before dis-assembly...
