550 perf cam

Paul fron the sohc4 site stoped by today with a 550 cam. We measured it and it is the same a 650 cam but less lift. Web cam lists 550 performance cam that has .030" more lift than the 650. So what HP gain would that get? Not much I'm sure

I wasn't even aware of that the 550 cam would fit the 650. Don't they have a performance cam for the 650?

Remembere the 650 used all the 550 tooling. No cam offered for the 650 but you can have one welded and reground for 300+. The 550 cam I want to try is only 150. Didnt some have a 650 cam done on Jims site? Also I'm not looking for ant radical gain just a little something extra. Would go good with header and pods. I'm guessin it might only be good for 4 or so hp.
I posted it on the sohc4 site also and asked that someone might run it through a desktop dyno.
Might just buy one and put it in the race bike to see what happens.

Was there any duration/profile numbers listed at the old site? I'm going to do a few races then get the 550 cam and try it. What the hell all i can do is lose more. I did post pics at the sohc4 gallery.
