Between carb 1&2 and 3&4 there are little rubber T's mine are both split and the OEM replacements are prohibitvely priced. Anyone know of an altenrantive source or home made replacments. :?:

It was reported here that tees of aquarium equipment (small air pumps are common there) work.
Maybe on should try to soak them in fuel for a few days before installation to be sure they can stand it.

Did you have a chance to try the aquarium equipment solution yet? I am in the market for a pair of those T's myself.

I used fuel line and drilled a small hole on it and jammed a vacuum fitting in it. I did use the original parts on another bike though. They lasted this long will out last my riding days.

Is there a way to install this without separating the carbs? My Clymer manual does not even tell how to do this, it only recommends leaving separation of 1/2 and 3/4 to the experts.

I doubt you could do it without separating them. Although very vague My clymers does give the steps to remove 1 and 4 but recommends 2&3 to be taken in. Probably for the springs that frequently are installed wrong.

I ordered the OEM parts. It is not difficult to separate the carbs for the installof these fittings. I like the idea of fuel line and a small barb. Aquarium fittings are male t's need 1/2" wide with female soft ends. Doubt it would be gasahol compatible.

This is an extremely poor design when Keihin could have easily counterbored the opening and used a t fitting with "O" rings that would have lasted forever.

Those are nothing like the parts required.

Sorry then, I don't know what "T" you're talking about. These are what I have on mine.

This is what we are talking about.

cb650: Can you give me a little more detail on how you made one with fuel line?

Took approx 1/2 in of fuel line. Dont remember the size but thinking 1/4 inch. Bought 1/8 x 1/4 vacuum line adapters. Drilled a small hole in the fuel line smaller than 1/8 inch as best as u can drill rubber. Jamed the 1/8 end in with a little holymar (sp) sealant. Then you have the 1/4 end to add tubing to do go where you want. These are only vents and most times dont have fuel in them. The nitehawk I bought last summer had the same set up in it and we drive the piss out of it till the tank started leaking.

OK, so this is only a vent. That's good. I'm not yet to the point of assembling/installing the carb to know what it did, I only know mine was broken.

I made version of what you did, and it is set up drying right now.
