Cylinder head bolts

Postby Aussie » Mon Oct 14, 2013 3:03 pm

I need a set of cylinder head bolts for a 1982 CB650 sohc engine as I have 2 engines which I want to build 1 good one from to build a bobber but I have no head bolts and they are damn hard to find here in the UK. Anyone know where I can get a usable set from or what compatible head bolts will do the trick

The 80-82 SOHC head bolts are the same.

You need 10 of 90033-426-004, BOLT, FLANGE (8mm x 120mm)
Alternative Parts Number is 90023-MW3-600, "MW3" is the 1996-on CB Seven Fifty (Type RC 42). So these (and maybe also other, e.g. 2000-on CB750A) head bolts should be the same.

However In the rear center you need another two of 90036-426-004 BOLT, FLANGE (8mm x 145mm). Sorry, I only see "part obsolete" and no alternative here (partzilla.com).

Each bolt carries a washer.

In the worst case one could use stud bolts (much better for the crankcase threads BTW ) but this would mean no more engine disassemble in the frame.
