The floater valves are the needles and the seats.
The floater cam is the pin which serves as an axle for the float.

One may turn the carbs upside down and blow into the carb main fuel tube for leak identification. Maybe one can put a drop of fuel on the closed valve to watch for possible bubbles at smaller leakages.

Rubber tipped float valves as just that, rubber. Over time rubber dries out, and gets hard. It is very possible that the tips are not conforming to the float valve seat to seal it.

If you are still getting leakage through the float valve. Replace the float needle. I replace them as a matter of course when rebuild old carbs.

yeah, that's what I came up with. I ordered some new needles a few days ago and figured I'd buy some gaskets too. I'll put them in when they get here and let you guys know the results! Thanks

So I replaced the float needles put the carbs back on the bike and nothing had changed. Gas is still leaking from the air intake throats the minute the bike it turned off. Also the bike will barely stay running. It runs very rough and Won't really idol. I don't know what else to do....

welcome to the club. I have been having trouble getting mine to run smoothly, but I have got it running at least now. I think that it is just because of the cold, and that my choke only closes 80% or so when I pull it. I have noticed that I can get it to idle around 1.5k or so now but if i give it throttle it will die. If I use starter fluid and can get it running at higher rpm's and let it idle at aroun 2.5k it will rev fine. Between 1.5 and 2.5 it just dies, that is until its been running for 2-3 minutes and warms up then i can back it back down to 1.5k and it will run as fine as it will for now. Idk whats so special about that range for me, but maybe try getting it warmed up first.

Did you try to verify the tightness of the floats by blowing into carbs held upside down.
Vaccum tees had already been mentioned.
Is your acceleratur pump all right? Problems here may also result in leakage.
