Its in good shape but thats a lot of cash. This one is at £102 with 2 hours to go...if it was nearer to me id bid but it would cost me £125 delivery  Someone will get a bargain

That's what's suprised me about this one. Its in great shape, but that's a lot of money. Interesting to see what happens. CB 650 prices have been steady for ages on e-bay and elsewhere. You can still get a lot of bike for relatively small ammounts of dosh (asyou know :D ) I hope this doesnt attract the "investment"crowd like in the case of the 750's.

It looks nice, and over here in Norway that would be a very good price.

I have not seen an equivalent price for any cb650 here in the USA. $1500 may be the highest paid here. However, these bikes are rarely in mint (body or mechanical) condition in North America.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I paid $2000cdn for Sophie last year. She is (or was) complete, with everything original, but a little rough around the edges. I considered that a reasonable price to pay for a great bike which carried me 9,000+ long distance kms last summer.

After the faffing around I am doing at the moment (I call it a retrofication) she'll be even better. But the money being spent keeps getting more and more and more....!

One should never add up such costs. It can lead to heavy drinking or logic, both of which are bad when dealing with older bikes. :D

The value of one of these bikes is what the buyer is willing to pay. One person may see a classic in need of little tender loving care, and another may see a hack that needs a rattle-can paint job. I'm guessing that is worth about a 50% price difference.

Precisely. And what 'she who will be obeyed' doesn't know about, she cannot worry about!

Back to the subject of price, I personally reckon it looks to be fair, my '79 CB650z is on agreed value insurance for £1500 and I intend upping this to £2000 or even more in the near future.

But then that's just my opinion..................

Yes, my '79 is is good to great shape, but yours seems like excellent shape. It's nice to know there are still some out there that look like that. I've wrestled with doing some modifications to mine, including painting it, but some how it seems like a sacrilege to paint over 27 year old stock paint in good condition. Of course if it becomes my daily rider it will go south quickly I fear. It sounds like you have some other bikes and should be able to keep the 650 out of bad weather. :D

Ibsen, it looks like you have competition for the cleanest 650

OK, Yea I have already seen that picture. Looks real good. How is the exhaust system? Mine is showing signs of internal rust and the chrome is starting to crack in a couple of spots. Also I stole you Idea of the Sock on the brake reservoir. I sure don't want that to leak with out me knowing about it. I am going to buy a new one to have around. I understand they have a tendency to seep a bit. I think your bike looks as good as mine. A side by side comparison would be neat to do. Also if you have a lead on an exhaust system let me know. Must of course be in new to excellent shape. I plan on having this machine for another 25 years. I need to stock up on parts now. Thanks
