I'm sorry to see that you are selling your bike, but I'm happy to read that you and your wife are expecting a child. :D

That is a sweet paint job.

Sorry to see it has to go, but I understand. Having a young kid, house (maintenance), and such leaves a lot less time to tinker, maintain, or ride. If I sold my 650 it would be for the same reasons.

Well -- I had someone come look at it yesterday. He was very interested, but the bike was physically too large for him. I have had a lot of interest in it.

However, I'm having serious second thoughts....

First of all, congrats on starting a family. Second, I can't blame you for having second thoughts. I purchased my CB650C as a cheap starter bike and now, I don't think I could replace it. There are other bikes that catch my eye, but the longer I have the CB650, the more attached I become. As far as your asking price, I know a guy that just paid that much to have a mechanic install a top-end gasket set and do a tune-up on his 81 CB650. And it still needs work. He wasn't very happy when we pointed out to him that he could've bought your whole bike for what he paid the shop. It was even worse when I brought up the 8,000mi. engine on eBay for $150. Poor fella. Then again, it looks as though you'd still be able to pick up another one when you're ready. For a 27 year old bike that was only built for 4 years, it seems like there's still a ton of them out there. Or you could just store it until someday when you find yourself looking for something to tinker on

I originally purchased the CB for my wife as a cheap starter and now...well, same story.

Which is why I placed my '99 Kawasaki on Craig's list and in the paper for this Sunday. Hmm, which bike should I keep? The fuel injected, shaft driven 1999 bike or oil leaking, hard starting 1979? Clearly something greater than logic is at work in my head.
