I'm needing a new set of tires for my '80 CB650 Custom. I figure that's something the rest of you guys are accustomed to, so I thought I'd ask how you typically go about replacing them. I'd like to go cheap, but decent enough that I'm not replacing them again next year.
Suggestions?

I've had pretty awesome luck with used tires. Also ebay a good source if you can get a deal on shipping. Check your local craigslist. lots of times shops will sell used tires for cheap < 100 a set or so.

Your best bet IMO is to go on BikeBandit.com and check out the sizes you need in a Shinko brand tire. They have the old Yokohama molds. I was able to get a set of two for a 80 Honda Hawk for $95.

If it is for riding and not for the look avoid these old tire constructions.
The chassis is still poor enough with modern tires.

I found a good set at motorcycle-superstore.com, Shinko 712 pretty good reviews and new at about $100 for the set.

Thanks, all, for your input. I ended up buying some new Shinkos from a local motorcycle repair shop.
