Are you saying that you still believe they are different?

Guess I'm a little confused. Hehe... The 80/81/82 all look the same to me.

That has been a popular request over the past few months. Those things seem to go AWOL often. I'm not sure if I have a complete set (I'm having doubts). I will try to have a look this afternoon when I get the chance.

Edit: I've yet to come across any more.

And all you can get from honda is the poor designed ones. I made a couple sets at work.

I believe it's the same part from 650 to 650, mine's a 1982 Nighthawk:

Do you have the shaft that the advancer fits on? Part number 30231-426-000

I do have one (actually several), but I must admit, I have no idea how to remove it from the crank without damaging it.

Sometimes they come out with the nut. If not you can take everything off and double nut it.

I tried that this morning, with a crankshaft that is out of the bike. I put it on my workbench, double-nut it and tightened it down to try to 'lock' the nuts into place, but simply could not back it out. I tried to grip the shaft with a pair of pliers with it for added leverage. Looks like that method would likely tear it up. Seems like a simple task, but I've not been able to remove one yet. Hehe...

Having done more extensive reading here, several years-old posts seemed to indicate that either a stud puller or a bolt-out might work.

Thanks for trying!

Is it threaded in, or pressed in? I assumed it was threaded in, but now that you've mentioned this, I'm second-guessing myself. Anyone know?

It's threaded. Google images of the part number and you'll see the bigger threads on the other end.

Its threaded. I usually have no trouble getting them out. I might have on laying around. I'll look today.
