speedometer cable location?

Can anyone tell me where the speedometer cable is located on a 1982 honda cb 650? I just bought on and it didnt come with one and I don't know where it goes for when i buy one?

There should be a gear apparatus attached to the left side of the front wheel at the hub. One end of the cable goes in there and is held in place by a screw. Other end of the cable screws into the bottom side of the speedometer. It will be obvious which end goes where.

Besides the already correctly stated fixing at both ends, there may be a small clamp at the bottom at the front brake caliper.
There should be also a plastic "eye" at the rear left of the front fender to guide the cable through.

I think the '82 had a clip instead of a screw that held the cable to the gear on the wheel end. The style with the screw should work too though.
