Time for a fresh project, and as the 650 running gear does what I need I'll be using that. Seems a shame to break, but the parts I want to re-use are worth more than I'll get for selling the bike as is and buying another donor bike, so I'll start a fresh project using the already refurbished running gear.
Mostly been freshly painted/plated/polished over the last couple of years so it's all clean and good condition. I'm using the frame/forks/wheels/exhausts/loom; otherwise it's all available - CDI units, reg-rectifier, footrests/mounting plates, clocks, handlebar, brake pedal, gear shift, centre stand (the only bit I never repainted). Think that covers most of it...
Most of you know the history of this bike from the lengthy rebuild thread.
Most of the above are stripped off the bike, can send photos.

Sorry to hear that but of course it makes sense to keep the good parts where you already know that they are all right. Interesting idea to keep the chassis but give away the engine as the chassis is not the strong part of the CB650. I might be interested in the engine, but I guess shipping costs to Germany would not make sense.
Really bad luck with the starter clutch transmission. Probably a small starter clutch transmission sprocket has lost a few teeth. I am not sure whether that may be replaced with the engine in the frame, but it might be possible after you removed the primary cam and the starter clutch.

Hi Volker, probably won't do an electric conversion on this one. Not entirely sure what to do with it yet, keeping an eye open for an interesting donor engine and then I'll take it from there. I have quite a stack of bits collected at autojumbles that I could use on this.
I've been reading up on motorcycle design and might brace the frame to stiffen it as an experiment.
Will start a new thread once I know the direction I'm taking.

Had a sort out and here's most of the bits...
inner rear mudguard
chrome rear mudguard (US version so shorter than UK type)
petrol tank
side panels (good, mounting lugs all intact)
standard tail fairing with good rear light
Guiliari seat (interest already on here, waiting to sort postage costs so may already be sold)
rear footrests
front footrests
carbs
carb inlet rubbers (new from DSS a while ago)
exhaust collets/split collars
header pipes
carb 'inlet' box - the one that connects the air filter to the 4 carb inlet stubs
centre stand
probably most ignition parts, and possibly the loom but not sure yet.
May be more I've forgotten about, so ask if you need anything specific.
