I live in England, just outside London and have just bought a 1982 650 knighthawk, mainly because I love the lines on it but also I wanted to get back on the road on 2 wheels after a 2 year lay off.
Previously I owned a 1992 900 Triumph Trident so the Honda feels like a very different animal, much more revvy.
Found this forum while I was researching the Knighthawk as a prospective purchase, now I've got it I look forward to sharing tips, tales of woe as well as glory on these bikes

Re: Hi everyone
Welcome here!
Yes, CB650 engines need to be revved up to get the bike moved. But it can stand that provided it is warm and has enough oil. Interesting exhaust. Have fun!

Re: Hi everyone
Thanks guys, the exhaust is a Marshall aftermarket job, it was on the bike when I bought it and sounds very nice but not so loud as to be offensive.
Im impressed with the fuel consumption, getting between 10 and 12 miles to the litre, the only issue for me is still the rev's, I'm looking at fitting a 17T engine sprocket and a 38T rear sprocket, haven't done the calculations yet on what that will do to to the top end revs but Im just not used to doing 50 in top gear with 4.500 on the rev counter !! A life spent on Triumph's, what can I say

Re: Hi everyone
Whatever you do (I have 17/39 = 60mph/5000rpm, but RC08/SC transmission is different in some gears), remember that full oil pressure is available from about 3000rpm on. So better no riding at load below. Gearwheels are also not that sturdy for lower rev / higher torque riding.
