how do you guys fit such nice fotos for your avatars? I'm trying to make a good one, but cant shrink it enough to look good...

figured out how to shrink it, but it doesnt look near as good as you guys'. How do you get it so crisp and clear?

If you use Irfanview:
in the menu "image" go to "resize/resample". You will get a screen where you can set any percentage or pixel size you like. Keep "preserve aspect ratio" active. Should work perfectly. :wink:
There is a limit for avatars of 80x80 pixels and 6kb file size that should not be exceeded. Try to get close to these limits for a good picture. If file size is the problem, increase the compression ratio. You can access it after pressing the "options" button in the "save as" menu.

You can post your pic on any of the web albums, like imageshack, and then just link it in you avatar options. Then you are not that much limited with size. I did it this way...
