Removing Carbs
Removing Carbs
I new to the bike world, i have worked on cars for almost 10 years, im trying to remove the carbs from my 81 honda cb650 and the air box is keeping me from getting them out. how does the air box come out so i can take off the carbs?
Re: Removing Carbs
If you pull back on the air box with a ratchet strap then you can get the carbs out.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!
Re: Removing Carbs
Welcome here!
As already written, carbs have to go out before airbox which makes things quite close. Please refer to the CANNOT AT ALL GET CARBS OFF thread for some suggestions how to make things a bit easier.

No pic but you could do a search on them. they are used usually for securing loads.

Ratchet Strap: Sears part no. 00922923000.
When you pull the carbs back to remove them, do the four rubber boots at the front of the carbs stay attached to the carbs or do they stay attached to the engine intake?

Always best to clean the tank out on any bike. Even if youve had it for years.
