Carburetor float bowl drain hoses?

Postby deetrumpet » Mon Apr 25, 2011 12:43 pm

The photo in the http://cosky0.tripod.com manual shows drain hoses attached to the four carb bowl drain fittings. I just got my bike and don't know what's missing. Am I supposed to have bowl drain hoses? If so, where do they lead? And what function do they serve, since the bowl won't drain unless I loosen the drain screw?

They just route the fuel away from your engine when you drain the carb bowls, and are not a critical component to your bike's operation.

They are supposed to go down at the rear of the engine. Besides the drain screw, also fuel overflow due to leaky floater valves or sticking floaters will happen through this channel.
