Motorcycle hitch hauler

Postby bonhomechristopher » Tue May 17, 2011 3:07 pm

I have a Jeep Liberty four cylinder and need a way to tow my bike. I bought the bike in college and had to rent a uhaul trailer to take it home for the summer. I am NEVER going to do that again. Too expensive and a big strain on my car. I have been looking into hitch haulers and if anyone knows of a good quality inexpensive model please let me know! Any advice on the subject would also be welcomed.
So...when will your bike be finished? Umm, never. It is an old bike, there's always gonna be something to do!

Seen one online; cannot remember the name. It's a cradle for the front tire to rest in and you ratchet it to it; plus the set up is made to slide into a 2" receiver on your truck or car. No trailer to deal with.

Lower end ones I've seen run around 150, but would be pushing it weight wise with a 650. The next step up is also about 100 bucks increase, but would hold the weight. I've been watching craigslist myself in hopes of finding a good deal.

Where are you located? I'm selling one... I'm going to move up to a trailer I think, so am looking to get rid of my hitch hauler... I've used it on my CB 650 and a friends much heavier 750, worked fine as long as you strap it in real tight.

It slides into a 2" mount, but I've also got a 1 1/2 inch to 2" adapter for it if you've got a smaller mount, like myself.

Let me know.
