Howdy, All

Postby Maxx » Tue Aug 19, 2008 8:24 pm

I just found this forum while searching for info.
When my brother passed I got his 84 CB650SC Nighthawk.
It was partially apart. So I've been looking for info.
Looks like a nice site.

Welcome here! :D
Sorry for your brother. 1984 Nighthawk might be DOHC. If this should be the case be aware that most of the discussion here is related to SOHC, DOHC should be explicitly named. The engines and most parts are completely different.

Yup, It's a DOHC. Carbs need work. There is also 2 vent hoses from the carbs that I can't seem to find where they went to. I assume that they may have gone to the air box but I don't see where. It is also shaft drive.
I noticed that no one seems to talk about 83 and up here.
Is there another forum that caters to the DOHC engines?

In fact here is only very few discussion on the DOHC. I am not aware of a more suitable forum however. I could imagine the DOHC engine is quite similar to the CBX 550/750 engines, maybe you like to try in that direction.
Some SOHC carbs also have vent hoses from a "T" that just have to be open, probably as a reference pressure for the CV carbs. So this might be correct for you, too.
