Hi all
Re: Hi all
I'm also still alive. However I am quite busy with my job until christmas. Hope to have more time again next year.
I think the pin of the steering lock should just pull out. From the first pictures impression, I'm quite fascinated that you got everything apart without using any explosives .

Good to hear from you Volker. No explosives required yet, but the swingarm bushes and lower-rear shock bushes might come close to it
Only broken bit so far was shearing one of the caliper bleed nipples. Yes, I know it's easy and fairly common for them to shear off, that just makes me feel more stupid for thinking "just a bit more pressure..."

All is well here. We had a heat wave(50 - 60 deg. F) up here in the Northeast last week, but with the daylight being so short and the holiday rush, I only managed to get the bike out once. That's still damn good for December though. She started and ran well once I opened the petcock
As for the swingarm bushings... I used the largest socket that I could fit through the swingarm opposite the bushing and drove it out with an extension. Be sure to work around the edge of the bushing rather than driving it crooked. And be gentle so you don't put a burr on the edge of it.

Aye, we also had a heat wave of sorts here in Tennessee (southeast USA). Got up to 75 degrees F, and my brother in law bought himself an '81 BMW R1000, so we took our bikes out riding.
I could barely keep up with him I never knew my bike could corner like that! Corners I would normally take at around 55mph I was taking at 70mph! High adrenaline + high pucker factor = super fun!
