Fine bike!
Dual front discs and 4-2 exhaust with km speedo, interesting combination, if stock. However I do not know much about the pecularities of the Canada/US versions.

I would think someone (Rob?) put slipon pipes as they should be 4-4 on the custom. Also the paint one the custom I thought was always a 2 tone.
These bike are getting old and who knows what changing past owners have done.
I seen one with a drum front brake once.

I think I am the 4th or 5th owner of this bike, so I don't know the modifications on it. Neither me or the last owner have done much modifications on the bike though. I had thought the red paint was stock though after looking at pictures of other 650's.

I am glad of having the 4-2 though, I like the simpler lines they create. With the position of the passenger foot peg, I am not sure where a 4-4 would mount on the bike though. For 25 year old chrome, it is in very good shape so it may be that they have been changed sometime in its life. The dual-front is stock, same with the km speedo, as it is manditory in Canada. Also, it has day time running lights, which are mandatory in Canada and may not be in the US or other countries.

Thanks, so these items seem to be some canadian particularities. I also noticed that your chrome parts still look very fine. I prefer the 4-4 but that's a question of taste. So if you ever should fall over a 4-4 don't leave it there in the dust but pick it up for me
BTW, the passenger footpeg is at the same position with 4-4, the pipes are not directly above one another and somewhat smaller.

I just bought an 81 650 with 15,000 miles but mine is black no 2-tone paint and it has the 4-4 pipes and it does look cool I like the back rest on yours and I would like to find one for mine.

Could be a tank off a standard also. Itsa direct bolt on. Customs also had the badge on the side cover instead of the sticker.

Looks good in red. I really dig that luggage rack too. The case guards are a good fit too. Did you put those on? If you did, do you have a part number?

Ah, so that site does work, I just spelled it wrong last night. It's 'cyclewareables' not 'cyclewearables' It's in my browser favs now so I won't misspell it next time. Thanks.

I didn't put on the luggage rack or case guards, but I definately like them.

I have the bike apart a little bit right now, getting new rear rubber and so forth.
