wanted left side cb650c side cover emblem and cover

Postby arcangel » Sat Mar 28, 2009 10:06 pm

wanted left side cb650c side cover emblem, and cover if the price is not to expensive I am looking for a brown side cover (mine is cracked) but I will take what I can get . Just let me know if you have one or a lead to where one can be had.

cb650 You have one ????

I also have a friend that wants 2 side covers as well he said he wanted just the plain side cover so guess no logos are needed.

I am still looking for the metal tool box cover and rubber holders for the cover as well.

I do have some brown one but they are on a bike. All th others I'm keeping. On the tool box wasnt it just a half box you put the kit in then a "rubberband" to hold them in?

Is there really a toolbox metal cover? Now that you say, I could imagine how it looks like, but I never missed it or saw one.

It wasnt plastic? Dad bought our first one new in 82 but I cant remember the cover at all just the band. On a couple of mine I cut the whole box off and just carry a pouch of tools.

I have the tools wired in the box but it is a pain to get the tools out to do work on the bike.
I guess I will have to get a 2nd spark plug tool and leave it out of the box for easy access maybe put it in the bags.

Guess what I found today???!?!!!? Was taking a few parts of the next project bike (Blue 81 custom) and it had the plastic cover and a the rubber band. The cover is very flimsy and would sugjest making something out sheet metal. This band is broke but you could get a heavy rubberband to do the job. If all you carry is the stock kit you could put it in your pocket. I usually carry more and a few electical parts.

cover is made from plastic?? sounds cheap.
if so I guess I will have to make one from alum ir maybe even shrink magic and form it to the metal case while hot WHMMMM. Thanks for the info.
You find a emblem you will part with please let me know, the side cover I can repair the cracks and repaint but now the side cover is the worse looking part on my bike. I just bought a new seat cover and foam I have to put it on the seat pan but It will look very nice when I get done I also buffed the motor side covers and the front forks and all I can say is
Sweet !!!! It is not Chrome but not very far from there.
follow the link to see the pics.
I still have some buffing to do but Still looks sweet.

Willing hands, good job! :D Put some conservation stuff on it now, so you will enjoy it for a longer time like that.
I wonder if there is (was?) a pin or something at this fork to fix the speedometer transmission. I see a groove, but no nose.

No there is not a clip It just looks like there should be ther is a wire clip that holds in the cable, but not to keep the speedometer transmission cover from turning just the bolt presser as far as I know.

Had a look, my fork is different and there is a nose at the fork for the speedometer transmission.

a nose at the fork for the speedometer transmission. ??????
could you post a pic of what you are talking about?
I will post a closeup pic of mine if you want just let me know.
only problem might be all the shinny sparkles of light reflecting back from the fork might make the pic hard to see

There is some kind of dent that hinders the speedometer transmission from turning with the wheel. I'll try to think of the picture. I'm sure I won't have any trouble with reflections. :D
