Wanted intact starter/kill switch assembly for 83 CB650SC

Postby premiumroast » Mon Aug 26, 2013 1:38 pm

Looking for a starter/kill switch assembly for my 83 Nighthawk. Apparently the wiring is unique to this model year? Anyone who has one please let me know! Thanks!!!

cb650 :
If yours are known to be correct then go with those.

Premiumroast :
Check with Cb650 as he has correct one. While we are at it I would like pics to ID mine. (pics of 83)

I have a 84 and 85 650sc bikes and bunch of spares for them as well as 83 spares.
I have a Prepped crank: Lightened by 5lbs, turned, trued, balanced and balanced rods set for it. Rods have bearings for that crank. Sell for 350 w/rods if u know any one.
Thanks
Bob

cb650: I'm located in Manitoba Canada and if you have an intact throttle/kill switch assembly i'd be interested. I am currently starting the bike by contacting the starter wires, far from a perfect method! Bike is also only running on two outside cylinders but I suspect it is a carb issue as the choked rod is bent, and the two inside cylinders are being fed pure gasoline.

usbear: thanks for the info! I was given the bike when I sold my 09 BMW G650, and have been living by the adage "having an older bike makes you a better mechanic" haha

Do you have any idea if the starter/kill switch off an 84 Honda Nighthawk would work on my bike??

Well first of all it is the connector that matters and you can change that.So when cb650 gets back to you should be not much problem.

Take a close up pic of the electrical plug in. (Connectors)

usbear actually the bike mechanic who cleaned and tuned the carbs has a fully intact starter and kill switch assembly off an 84 Nighthawk 750 for like $35 Canadian so I might buy it from him, just want to make sure it is going to fit up properly.

carbs on, but outside right cylinder and inside left cylinder not running. Discovered the inside left cylinder plug wire was broken inside. I think I might have plugs/coils mixed up.

Left Coil = 1 and 4 Outside
Right Coil = 2 and 3 Inside
