Advice on bike about to be picked up

Postby Pbiggs » Wed Sep 04, 2013 8:36 pm

this will be the second 650 I have in the garage except mines a 81 and this is a 80, compression red 90,60,90,90... has been sitting since 97 tank is one of the best ive seen except for a zig zag scratch at the very bottom of the tank, carbs are not in great shape(fuel dumps out of them, and it doesnt leak oil, no battery tires are in okay shape speedo reads 13,000 all electrics work.

If I cant get this running I will be parting it out Im just wondering if its worth my effort to drive an hour out to pick this bike up or if it will just be a pain in the neck, thanks!

Sorry I forgot, after testing the compression I talked him down from $600 to $400.

yeah best purchase I've ever bought honestly at first looks I thought it was gonna be only a spare engine honestly

Gas tank innerds were in amazing shape considering sitting outside for years

But It was up and running within a week with the carbs that came with it and is now registered and legal to ride

It was in better shape then the current bike I had at the time and paid only 400 for it ( was a 3 hour drive though)

still have a lot of work too do Its not running now I took the carbs apart to clean them again and now im having some troubles

Its the stock one Im stoked on it feels amazing driving it
