1979 cb650 for parts

Postby mvrebels43 » Wed Nov 19, 2014 11:21 am

for parts
the motor was completely rebuilt, and has only about 2,000 miles on the rebuild.
it has been mono-shocked with a shock off of a ninja
brand new tires, barely ridden on

no guages

frame has been chopped and welded

just changed spark plug wires, and spark plug caps.
two new coil ignition assembly's.
new ignition module.
just had carbs jetted and tuned.
make a reasonable offer on anything and we can make a deal

NO FRONT BRAKES! SERIOUSLY!!

NO SERIOUS CAFE RIDER WOULD BE STUPID ENOUGH TO RIDE A BIKE WITHOUT A FRONT BRAKE!!!

Gotta say the mismatched wheels, and lack of gauges turns me off. But Hey. Its not meant to be seriously ridden either!!

I do not normally speak out against how anyone wants to build a bike, but that bike reeks of ill concieved, and poorly executed misconception of safety.

If you think I am being harsh. Take it over to DTT, and let the real cafe riders tell you what they think about that bike. I see so much wrong with it. I recommend it be parted out before YOU get someone killed on it!!!

Wow.. I am surprised state inspection gave you a licence plate to put on this bike.. The second you drive away from the inspection shop if you get in a wreck involving serious injury/Death.. one of the first things they do is check who did the safety? so I'm pretty sure the same could go for you.. you intentionally sell this bike knowing it's not safe and they get in a wreck and die thats manslaughter .
This isn't a rare occurrence.. I've heard of two safety inspectors in my city being charged for intentionally passing a unsafe car/motorcycle for bribe etc..

I assume you were uninvolved with the work done to the bike.. but who swaps out one mag for a spoked wheel.. and why did they have to pick the front wheel? I don't know anyone who would run without front brakes who didn't have a deathwish. the braking on these 30 year old bikes is bad enough most worry about improving there braking not removing it completely.

Going to stop now, as i'm sure you're aware of some/all of these things and are now selling it (too the next sucker )
