Spark Plug Wires

Postby Hutch1 » Tue Sep 19, 2017 4:27 pm

I'm about to place my last parts order as i hit the home stretch towards firing the bike. A search for spark plug wires has left me with no clear direction, can someone provide insight regarding a guide after market spark plug wire kit for the 650?

I also plane to order a Li battery (Shorai XTREME-RATE LIFEPO4 LFX BATTERY LFX14A5-BS1 134mm ), are there any problems or other necessary changes when using a lithium battery?

When I changed my HT leads I just bought copper cored cable from a car parts supplier, off the roll for a couple of quid. Cut it to length, peeled the rubber sheathing off of the old leads and put it on the new ones and screwed them in to the coils. Works fine :D
As for batteries, I don't have a clue as I'm a tight old git and go for the cheapest

You can buy 7mm plug wire in bulk at most auto parts stores. Then just cut it to size and screw on the terminals.

Thanks all, bulk cable it is!

I really don't want to spend the extra 100 bucks on a Li battery, but its my understanding that they bleed off virtually no charge when sitting for long periods. I'll also be able to mount it in any position since leaking wont be and issue, plus its small enough to hide. I'm also considering dry cell and gel options.
