Auto Fuel Valve

Postby Hutch1 » Wed Oct 04, 2017 5:26 pm

I replaced the original gas tank on my '82 CB650SC with one from a '80 CB650. I was hoping for a definative anwser from the folks on the board regarding the auto fule valve.

Can I/should I completely eliminate the auto fuel valve since the '80 tank does not have a vacuum-assisted petcock? It seems these are a source of problems.

I definitely would remove it. I do it with all the bikes I rebuild. Just remember to turn off the petcock when you park the bike.

Thanks much, I was hoping that was the answer!
