1985 CB650SC vacuum barbs / carb bracket mounting

Postby Doubledown » Tue Dec 19, 2017 10:34 pm

I realize now after having registered and now reading through some posts that this forum in generally about the SOHC per 83 CBs however I am hoping someone might have some insight into my 85 now that I am here anyway.

I picked up this bike in pieces from a friend of mine and am going through it piece by piece. I have torn down and rebuilt the carbs and the factory service manual says to push the carbs firmly together and tighten down the front bracket in the "sequence below." Well, there is no reference to a sequence not are their torque specs. Does anyone know if it is a standard pattern like torquing a tire or intake manifold or is there something specific to avoid "carb mis-allignment". Is there also a specific torque spec for the bolts other than the bolt size standard/ is there a down side to putting some hand tool thread locker on there?

Regarding the vacuum barbs I have no diagram and no indication of how they cam. I have the fuel inlet location, and am pretty sure the 2 plastic barbs in "A" are to be connected to filter open air.. But I am not sure on where the steel barbs on each carb "B" go nor the single "C" barb goes.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi Doubledown and welcome, unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about the DOHC bikes but you may find somebody who does on this,
